Wahlsystem

Die Wahl erfolgte nach dem Verhältniswahlrecht in zwölf Wahlbezirken, nämlich den neun Regionen Englands sowie Schottland, Wales und Nordirland. Während die englischen, schottischen und walisischen Wahlbezirke das D’Hondt-Verfahren anwenden, gilt in Nordirland das Verfahren der übertragbaren Einzelstimmgebung.
