Die Integration durch Substitution oder Substitutionsregel ist eine wichtige Methode in der Integralrechnung , um Stammfunktionen und bestimmte Integrale zu berechnen. Durch Einführung einer neuen Integrationsvariablen wird ein Teil des Integranden ersetzt, um das Integral zu vereinfachen und so letztlich auf ein bekanntes oder einfacher handhabbares Integral zurückzuführen.
Die Kettenregel aus der Differentialrechnung ist die Grundlage der Substitutionsregel. Ihr Äquivalent für Integrale über mehrdimensionale Funktionen ist der Transformationssatz , der allerdings eine bijektive Substitutionsfunktion voraussetzt.
Aussage der Substitutionsregel
Bearbeiten
Wir betrachten:
∫
a
b
f
(
φ
(
x
)
)
⋅
φ
′
(
x
)
d
x
{\displaystyle \int _{a}^{b}f(\varphi (x))\cdot \varphi '(x)\,\mathrm {d} x}
.
Der Term
φ
(
x
)
{\textstyle \varphi (x)}
erscheint innerhalb der Funktion
f
{\displaystyle f}
und seine Ableitung
φ
′
(
x
)
{\displaystyle \varphi '(x)}
als Faktor außerhalb der Funktion
f
{\displaystyle f}
. Diese Konstellation ermöglicht es, durch Substitution den Term
φ
(
x
)
{\textstyle \varphi (x)}
aus dem Integranden in die Integrationsgrenzen zu verschieben.
Zur Substitution benutzt man die Umkehrfunktion
φ
−
1
{\displaystyle \varphi ^{-1}}
und einen neuen Variablennamen, hier
t
{\displaystyle t}
. Es soll gelten
φ
(
x
)
=
t
{\displaystyle \varphi (x)=t}
und
x
=
φ
−
1
(
t
)
{\displaystyle x=\varphi ^{-1}(t)}
.
Die Substitution besteht darin, zuerst im Integranden den Faktor
φ
′
(
x
)
{\textstyle \varphi '(x)}
zu streichen und gleichzeitig das Symbol
d
x
{\displaystyle \mathrm {d} x}
durch
d
t
{\displaystyle \mathrm {d} t}
zu ersetzen. Anschließend wird überall die Integrationsvariable
x
{\textstyle x}
durch
φ
−
1
(
t
)
{\textstyle \varphi ^{-1}(t)}
ersetzt. Abschließend werden die Integrationsgrenzen
a
{\textstyle a}
und
b
{\textstyle b}
durch
φ
(
a
)
{\textstyle \varphi (a)}
bzw.
φ
(
b
)
{\textstyle \varphi (b)}
ersetzt.
Rechnerisch läuft folgendes ab:
∫
a
b
f
(
φ
(
x
)
)
⋅
φ
′
(
x
)
d
x
=
∫
φ
(
a
)
φ
(
b
)
f
(
φ
(
φ
−
1
(
t
)
)
)
d
t
=
∫
φ
(
a
)
φ
(
b
)
f
(
t
)
d
t
{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}\int _{a}^{b}f(\varphi (x))\cdot \varphi '(x)\,\mathrm {d} x=\int _{\varphi (a)}^{\varphi (b)}f(\varphi (\varphi ^{-1}(t)))\,\mathrm {d} t=\int _{\varphi (a)}^{\varphi (b)}f(t)\,\mathrm {d} t\end{aligned}}}
Hat man die Stammfunktion
F
{\textstyle F}
gefunden, kann man sie direkt an den (neuen) Grenzen
φ
(
a
)
{\textstyle \varphi (a)}
und
φ
(
b
)
{\textstyle \varphi (b)}
auswerten:
∫
φ
(
a
)
φ
(
b
)
f
(
t
)
d
t
=
F
(
φ
(
a
)
)
−
F
(
φ
(
b
)
)
.
{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}\int _{\varphi (a)}^{\varphi (b)}f(t)\,\mathrm {d} t=F(\varphi (a))-F(\varphi (b)).\end{aligned}}}
(Man könnte auch die Stammfunktion zum ursprünglichen Integranden als
F
∘
φ
{\textstyle F\circ \varphi }
bilden und dann an den alten Grenzen
a
{\displaystyle a}
und
b
{\displaystyle b}
auswerten. In der Praxis ist diese Rücksubstitution aber unnützer Aufwand, wenn es nur um bestimmte Integrale geht.)
Diese Substitutionsmethode lässt sich auch rückwärts durchführen; allerdings muss die Funktion
φ
{\displaystyle \varphi }
injektiv sein. Man geht von
∫
α
β
f
(
t
)
d
t
{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}\int _{\alpha }^{\beta }f(t)\,\mathrm {d} t\end{aligned}}}
aus (man beachte die Benennung der Integrationsgrenzen). Die Integrationsvariable
t
{\textstyle t}
wird durch den Term von
φ
(
x
)
{\textstyle \varphi (x)}
ersetzt, ebenso das Symbol
d
t
{\displaystyle \mathrm {d} t}
durch
d
x
{\displaystyle \mathrm {d} x}
.
Der Integrand wird mit
φ
′
(
x
)
{\textstyle \varphi '(x)}
multipliziert. Die Integrationsgrenzen
α
{\displaystyle \alpha }
und
β
{\displaystyle \beta }
werden
durch
φ
−
1
(
α
)
{\displaystyle \varphi ^{-1}(\alpha )}
bzw.
φ
−
1
(
β
)
{\displaystyle \varphi ^{-1}(\beta )}
ersetzt. Das sieht dann so aus:
∫
α
β
f
(
t
)
d
t
=
∫
φ
−
1
(
α
)
φ
−
1
(
β
)
f
(
φ
(
x
)
)
⋅
φ
′
(
x
)
d
x
{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}\int _{\alpha }^{\beta }f(t)\,\mathrm {d} t=\int _{\varphi ^{-1}(\alpha )}^{\varphi ^{-1}(\beta )}f(\varphi (x))\cdot \varphi '(x)\,\mathrm {d} x\end{aligned}}}
Bei geschickter Wahl der Funktion
φ
{\displaystyle \varphi }
kann entgegen des ersten Anscheins der Integrand vereinfacht werden.

Lineare Substitution

F

Logarithmische Integration

Integrale, bei denen der Integrand ein Bruch ist, dessen Zähler die Ableitung des Nenners ist, können sehr einfach mit Hilfe der logarithmischen Integration gelöst werden:

f

)

0
)
{\displaystyle \int {\frac {f'(x)}{f(x)}}\,\mathrm {d} x=\ln |f(x)|+C\quad \left(f(x)\neq 0\right)}
.
Das entspricht einem Spezialfall der Substitutionsmethode mit
t
=
f
(
x
)
{\displaystyle t=f(x)}
.
