• Yesterday you have created: Template:TemplateData Header
  • Please note that we have our own and quite elaborated Template:TemplateData which is serving more than 5600 templates.
  • We will not tolerate establishing a different system for TemplateData.
  • Since you are creator, please delete immediately by speedy deletion with {{Delete}}.
• You are preparing an infobox for archives: User:GiFontenelle/Infobox Archiv
  • Please note that this community is well equipped with any infobox that is really needed.
  • After more than a decade it is very rare that we agree to introduce a further infobox for some topics.
  • In this particular case there is already Template:Infobox Archiv with 157 transclusions.
  • The community will not accept a competing infobox in any article.
  • Please do not move that thing from your user space; best is speedy deletion to avoid confusion.
  • The same goes for:
    • User:GiFontenelle/Infobox Bibliothek ‎ (Template:Infobox Bibliothek ‎with 505 transclusions)
    • User:GiFontenelle/Infobox Museum (Template:Infobox Museum with 1290 transclusions)

Hi, @PerfektesChaos:

• Thank you for getting in touch with me. I really appreciate it. Let me, please, explain what I’m doing:
• I’m working on a global project with some folks from GLAM, as part of the Sum of All GLAMs project, which has a partnership with FindingGLAMs.
• We’re trying to develop some Wikidata Inboxes for some Wikipedias (PT, EN, DE, FR, IT), together with those communities. In other words, structured Infoboxes that extract metadata from Wikidata.
• As you can see in the infoboxes that I’m developing on my user pages, they’re not existing Infoboxes, but rather alternatives. These are different Inboxes from the ones DE Wikipedia already has.
• As you can see in the codes (which are not ready yet), the first information on the page will be informing that there’s already, in fact, existing Infoboxes for Archives, Libraries and Museums.
• Here is an example from PT Wikipedia, in which there’s the Infobox for Museum and another Infobox Museum Wikidata, with a slash differentiating them:
  • Predefinição:Info/Museu
  • Predefinição:Info/Museu/Wikidata
• Also, we’re just developing and making these Wikidata Infoboxes available, in case the DE community decides to use them. We do not plan to use them ourselves or force the usage. We are just developing and making them available, like there is in other languages (EN, for exemple).
  • Template:Infobox museum
  • Template:Infobox museum/wikidata
• But, to make them exist, I needed to create a different template, which is a section from the Template:TemplateData.
• The one I’m creating (Vorlage:TemplateData Header) is not the same as Vorlage:TemplateData, but a template that makes the TemplateData work with Wikidata. I do not plan on trying to replace the Vorlage:TemplateData, but only to make it work with Wikidata as well.
• As I don’t intent to force the usage of those Infoboxes and that Template, but just to make them exist in DE, I understand there’s nothing wrong with my activities.
• If it’s necessary, I’m open to talk about the Template and Inboxes. If there’s a more “formal” way for me to get “authorisation” to develop it all, specially the Template, please let me know, so I can properly work on it.
• I’m just trying to help the community with my activities and do not intent to do any harm. I hope I can find a way to continue the work.

You are not working together with this community.

Please remove your TemplateData Header stuff from template namespace immediately; it is not permitted here.

Did you know that Wikidata usage on German Wikipedia is restricted by an offical poll? Please put Wikipedia:Meinungsbilder/Nutzung von Daten aus Wikidata im ANR into a Portuguese translator.

You may do what you want as long you stay within your user space. If you are desperately relying on your TemplateData Header thing you could move it into your user space and transclude it from there. However, it must not stay in public template namespace any longer.

And if you ever plan to put any template into public namespace you will need to obey the rules of this community, and fit into any other 5600 templates, and do not break out of TemplateData usage here.

en:Template:TemplateData has been deleted in 2018, and on this project Template:TemplateData is something entirely different.

Before moving anything from your user space into our public template namespace ask for clearance at Template Maintenance Platform, Wikipedia:WikiProjekt Vorlagen/Werkstatt‎.

For establishing infoboxes to be used within our encyclopedic articles your global project will have to ask for formal community consensus, perhaps by a poll or strong support from established thematic local project.

Your project is not driven by GLAM, nor asked by the thematic editors of this local community to get help, but invented by Wikidata to overrun projects and inject Wikidata crumbs into their encyclopedic articles and proliferate Wikidata structures. That is controversial in this project.
