Tupuola Seua’i Ato Leau Plodzicki-Faoagali (geb. 18. Februar 1999, Sydney, Australien[1]) ist ein samoanischer Amateur-Boxer. Er trat für Samoa bei den Pazifikspielen, den Commonwealth Games und den Olympischen Sommerspielen 2020 in Tokio an.[2][3]
Amateur-Karriere
BearbeitenAto Plodzicki-Faoagali trat bei 2019 Pacific Games, where he won gold in the light heavyweight division.[4] The COVID-19 pandemic meant that he was not able to compete in any international tournaments in the leadup to the 2020 Olympics,[5] but was able to train in Australia alongside fello Samoan boxer Marion Ah Tong.[6] At the Olympics he was defeated by Belarusian Uladzislau Smiahlikau in his first fight.[7][8] Following the 2020 Olympics he focused on selection for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.[9] On 14 July 2022 he was selected as part of Samoa's team for the games.[10][11] He reached the final in the heavyweight competition but was defeated by Lewis Williams and was awarded the silver medal.[12][13]
Professional boxing career
BearbeitenPlodzicki-Faoagali made his professional boxing debut on the 25th of November 2022 at Faleata Sports Complex in Apia, Samoa.[14][15] Marion Faustino Ah Tong was also making his professional debut as the main undercard.[16] Plodzicki-Faoagali took on Fijian boxer Apisai Naciqa. Plodzicki-Faoagali won the fight by TKO.[17]

BearbeitenPlodzicki-Faoagali wurde in Sydney geboren.[18] Er hält zwei Matai-Titel: Tupuola von Sa’aga, Siumu and Seua’i con Tuana’i.[19]
