Die Flamingoblumen (Anthurium), auch eingedeutscht Anthurien genannt, bilden mit mehr als 600 bis vermutlich 1000 Arten die einzige Gattung der Tribus Anthurieae und wohl artenreichste[1] Gattung der Familie der Aronstabgewächse (Araceae). Diese rein neotropische Gattung ist im tropischen Zentral- und Südamerika und auf den Karibischen Inseln verbreitet. Als Zimmerpflanzen sind vor allem Sorten von zwei Arten verbreitet: Die Große Flamingoblume (Anthurium andraeanum) und die Kleine Flamingoblume (Anthurium scherzerianum)[2].

Vegetative Merkmale Bearbeiten

Anthurium-Arten wachsen als immergrüne, ausdauernde krautige Pflanzen. Sie gedeihen meist epiphytisch, manchmal terrestrisch. Der Stängel ist kurz bis lang. Manchmal werden viele Wurzeln an den Knoten (Nodien) gebildet.[1]

Die meist lanzettlichen Niederblätter (Cataphylle) sind haltbar oder verwelken schnell meist zu Fasern. Die meist im oberen Bereich des Stängels konzentrierten Laubblätter sind deutlich in Blattscheide, Blattstiel und Blattspreite gegliedert. Die Blattscheiden sind kurz. Die meist festen, steifen oder flexiblen Blattstiele besitzen je nach Art sehr unterschiedliche Querschnitte. Die mehr oder weniger ledrigen, selten dünnen Blattspreiten besitzen eine große Bandbreite an Formen: meist sind sie einfach und elliptisch bis lanzettlich, oft mit herzförmiger Basis; manchmal sind sie handförmig gelappt, wobei sie nur im äußeren Bereich oder bis zur Basis geteilt sein können. Die Blattspreiten sind netznervig mit meist erhabener Mittelrippe; die Basal- und Seitennerven bilden oft einen gemeinsamen Nerv entlang des Blattrandes.[1]

Generative Merkmale Bearbeiten

An jedem Knoten (Nodium) kann über einem mehr oder weniger langen, unbeblätterten Blütenstandsschaft ein Blütenstand gebildet werden. Am Ende des Blütenstandsschaftes steht in einem meist schrägen Winkel die Spatha. Die ausgebreitete, zurückgebogene oder manchmal aufrechte Spatha ist nicht verwachsen, meist flach, lanzettlich, selten eiförmig, oft intensiv gefärbt und umhüllt manchmal den Kolben. Der sitzende oder kurz gestielte Kolben (Spadix) ist meist zylindrisch, selten keulen- bis kugelförmig, verjüngt sich meist allmählich bis zur Spitze, kann sehr unterschiedlich gefärbt sein und enthält spiralförmig, dicht angeordnet viele Blüten. Die kleinen, zwittrigen Blüten sind protogyn. Es sind nur vier Blütenhüllblätter vorhanden. Der Stempel besteht nur aus einem zweikammerigen Fruchtknoten auf dessen Spitze als schlitzartige Vertiefung sich die Narbe befindet. In jeder Fruchtknotenkammer befinden sich meist zwei, selten drei oder mehr Samenanlagen. Es sind vier fertile Staubblätter vorhanden. Die Staubfäden sind abgeflacht oder fleischig. Die Staubbeutel sind meist breiter als lang. Der Pollen ist je nach Art verschieden gefärbt.[1]

Der Fruchtstand ist meist hängend, manchmal aufrecht. Die eiförmigen, länglich-eiförmigen, länglichen oder verkehrt-eiförmigen Beeren sind meist saftig. Sie sind bei Reife sehr unterschiedlich gefärbt. Das Perikarp ist dünn und das durchscheinende Mesokarp ist süß. Die zweikammerige Beere enthält in jeder Kammer meist einen Samen. Die etwas abgeflachten Samen besitzen meist ein klebriges Anhängsel an mindestens einem Ende.[1]

Taxonomie Bearbeiten

Die Gattung Anthurium wurde 1829 durch Heinrich Wilhelm Schott in Wiener Zeitschrift für Kunst, Litteratur, Theater und Mode 1829, Band 3, Seite 828 aufgestellt.[3] Der Gattungsname Anthurium setzt sich aus den Altgriechischen Wörtern ᾰ̓́νθος = anthos für „Blüte“ und ουρά = oura für „Schwanz“ zusammen. Lectotypusart ist Anthurium acaule (Jacq.) Schott, genauer gesagt wurde 1923 dessen Basionym Pothos acaulis Jacq. durch Britton & Wilson in Sci. Surv. Porto Rico, Vomume 5, Seite 128 festgelegt.[3] Synonyme für Anthurium Schott sind: Podospadix Raf., Strepsanthera Raf.[3][4]

Äußere Systematik Bearbeiten

Die Gattung Anthurium bildet alleine die Tribus Anthurieae Engl. in der Unterfamilie Pothoideae innerhalb der Familie Araceae.[5][6] Die Tribus Anthurieae wurde von Adolf Engler aufgestellt.

Die Gattung Anthurium wird 1983 in 18 Sektionen gegliedert:[7]

  • Sektion Gymnopodium: Sie enthält nur eine Art, Anthurium gymnopus, einem seltenen kubanischen Endemiten.

  • Sektion Porphyrochitonium
  • Sektion Schizoplacium (Schott) Engl.
