Mein Deutsch ist schlecht, denn ich antworte auf Englisch:
This information I recieved from his grand grand daughter : "The date when he died (according to our family records: 15th of February 1918 in Straßbourg). Just two week ago my father (whose name is Alwin Vater too – like his Grandfather) told me that he didn’t die in the war (fighting). He was on holidays at home in Straßbourg and had an accident with the Tram."
