Regius Professor of Civil Law (Cambridge)

Regius Chair of Civil Law ist die Bezeichnung einer Regius Professur für Civil Law (im Gegensatz zum Common Law) an der University of Cambridge.[1] Die Professur wurde 1540 von Heinrich VIII. mit einer Besoldung von ursprünglich 40 £ pro Jahr gestiftet.[1] Zeitgleich wurde auch eine gleichnamige Professur an der University of Oxford gestiftet, der Regius Professor of Civil Law (Oxford). Der Professor wird von The Crown ernannt und verbleibt im Amt durante bene placito (nach Belieben) des Monarchen.[1] Sie ist eine der ältesten Professuren der Universität.
