Die Stentorstimme taucht nur in der Übersetzung von Pinkas Braun auf, nicht im Original.
Bei Edward Albee lautet die Stelle:
GEORGE
What do you want me to do? Do you want me to act like you? Do you want me to go around all night braying al everybody, the way you do?
MARTHA (braying)
I DON'T BRAYI
Martha wird also nicht aufgrund ihrer piepsigen Stimme (da fehlt mir auch ehrlich gesagt eine Quelle) verspottet, sie grölt tatsächlich.
