Geburtsdatum Bearbeiten

I cannot read nor write German (I use translation software) so I will reply in English. That is why I entered the equation. The old source used for this article has the wrong birth year, the wrong death date, and the wrong death location. I'm not going to research how that occurred and was propagated. Modern tools makes it easier to double-check and speed spreading of errors.
Rochester, New York is where Marion Sarah Weed was born, grew up, returned to, taught at, died, and remembered. The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle newspaper (not "A Publisher Extra Newspaper") covered her life. (371 query matches)
The website newspapers.com includes OCR of the image further down.

"Marion Weed, Ex-Opera Star, Dies in Hospital Here at 81
Miss Marion Weed, 81, of 21 Menlo Place [in Rochester], former women's adviser at the Eastman School of Music and at one time an internationally-famous operatic soprano, died yesterday (June 22, 1947) in Park Avenue Hospital [in Rochester] after 2 years' illness..."
Here is a closeup of that text (from this query).
Here is Billboard's brief obituary in "The Final Curtain".
I haven't found a great source yet for the September 12 birth date so I have less confidence in that specific date, but the Census information tends to confirm it and certainly shows the 1870 year is incorrect and 1865 is correct.
Here are the earliest and latest available census info for her.
1870 Census Marion Weed, age 5, estimated birth year 1864-1865
1940 Census Marian Weed, age 74, estimated birth year 1866
The probable reason the 1870 census has a different age is the date on the page is the end of August versus the beginning of April for 1940 census. For more census info use New York Census Records Online Warning: The census can have nicknames and misspellings so I recommend searching for Marion's father, Eli Weed.
So who will shout "PRIMARY" or "OR" first? FYI: I am editing the English version of this article. StrayBolt (Diskussion) 09:46, 10. Mai 2017 (CEST)Beantworten
@StrayBolt: Thanks. In this case we can just enter both dates with explanatory notes. --Rodomonte (Diskussion) 10:11, 10. Mai 2017 (CEST)Beantworten
