Die Festung Alt-Paphos wird in der mir zugänglichen Lit als "am Marcello-Hügel" resp Marcello-hill gelegen beschrieben, also an einem Berg mit dem geografischen Namen „Marcello-Hügel“ (Oronym). Das steht auch prinzipiell so im Artikel, wurde aber ohne Belege eingangs abgeändert. So wurde Marcello-Hügel (Kouklia) nunmehr zum Namen (Toponym) des Stadtteils der antiken Stadt Paphos. In der genannten Quelle heißt es aber Of particular importance are the NE fortifications of the city. The sector uncovered thus far is at (sic!) the Marcello hill, due NE of the village of Kouklia.. Nach der neu angebotenen Lesart müsste es heißen: is the Marcello hill. Tut es aber nicht. Dankbar für Aufklärung.--Wheeke (Diskussion) 13:42, 4. Jul. 2016 (CEST)

Und noch ein Zitat aus dem ersten Fundbericht der ersten Kampagne des Jahres 1950 von Terence Bruce Mitford:

On the Marchello hill overlooking the village, the expedition investigated a mound ... This proved to be a well-packed pile of rubble encircled by a retaining wall and containing throughout a proportion of sculptural and architectural debris from an archaic sanctuary ... The mound... was found to overly part of a massive wall (of mud-brick faced with stone) and the fosse outside it, possibly the outer wall of the earliest city.
