Birth Year
BearbeitenI'm attempting to update his birth year from 1940 to 1937. I provided the citation, but failed to update the year! My first edit needs to be approved before it appears. I have many edits on the English version of Wikipedia, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Cxbrx . I was told that the confusion about his birth year is because he was featured in an exhibition of artists under 40 when he was over 40. For an example of the confusion, see Douglas James Johnson (1940-1998) and Jean Genet. I'm looking for better sources for his birth year. In the meantime, I would like his birth year to be updated to 1937. Cxbrx (Diskussion) 12:58, 29. Mai 2019 (CEST)
- Here's a bit more about Johnson's birth year: rubylane.com. Yes, this source is not particularly citable but it does indicate that there are multiple opinions about his birth year. Cxbrx (Diskussion) 18:48, 30. Mai 2019 (CEST)
- I found the 1940 US Census record for Johnson that shows that his parents were Kenneth (age 31) and Elsie (age 26). See the article reference "Who's Who in the World, 10th Edition 1990, ISBN 9780837911106 , p. 530" for corroboration about the names of the parents. See also Kenneth's 1986 obit, which mentions "Douglas Johnson of Paris". In the 1940 census, Douglas is listed as being of age 2. Source: "United States Census, 1940," database with images, FamilySearch (familysearch.org, free account required)(archives.gov, ED 12-22, page 22): Dugless J Johnson in household of Kenneth Johnson, Quincy Township, Branch, Michigan, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) 12-22, sheet 12B, line 77, family 268, Sixteenth Census of the United States, 1940, NARA digital publication T627. Records of the Bureau of the Census, 1790 - 2007, RG 29. Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 2012, roll 1734." I'll propose an edit that removes the 1940 birth year because it is incorrect. Cxbrx (Diskussion) 00:30, 11. Jun. 2019 (CEST)
