Hyleg (von mittelpersisch hîlâk, entsprechend dem griechischen apheta und dem lateinischen prorogator) ist ein astrologischer Begriff.

Hyleg (from the Persian haylaj, the material body): An Arabic term for the significator of longevity in a horoscope, also known as the apheta (from the Greek aphetes, one who starts an engine), the giver of life or the prorogator (from the Latin prorogare, to prolong). All three terms have fallen into disuse, partly because the rules for determining hylegiacal, or aphetic, places were extremely complex, and partly because the prognostication of death is now considered unethical.
