Ein Berater von Scalise bestätigte zwar, dass er auf einer Veranstaltung sprach,
die 2002 vom ehemaligen Ku-Klux-Klan-Führer David Duke gegründet wurde, bestritt aber,
dass er wusste, dass die Veranstaltung mit Rassisten und Neonazis in Verbindung stand.
„In Anbetracht dessen, was gerade in Israel passiert, kann ich niemanden unterstützen,
der mit irgendetwas in Verbindung gebracht wird, das zu Spaltungen führt, egal ob es um Rasse oder Religion geht.
Das ist für mich ein absolutes Tabu“, sagte sie.
