Die Minen wurden per Signal gezündet, nicht entschärft.
BearbeitenIch glaube, die Aussage "Wenn beim Sender der passende dreitönige Akkord abgestrahlt wurde, konnten die Minen entschärft werden." ist nicht richtig. Es muss genau anders herum sein: Die Minen wurden mit der Aussendung des Signals gezündet. Und das Abspielen der Säkkijärven polkka hat das Signal zur Sprengung der Minen stören und die Detonation verhindern sollen.
Ist das eventuell ein Übersetzungsfehler? In der englischen Wikipedia steht "These mines were set off when a three-note chord was played...". "Set off" bedeutet in diesem Zusammenhang "auslösen", nicht "ausschalten/deaktivieren" (siehe Übersetzung von "to set off" auf dict.cc).
Einen weiteren Hinweis gibt es im Vimeo-Video "Radio Mines" auf der Seite Radio-Mines, in dem es heißt: "The broadcasting of the song on the same frequency is hoped to scramble the detonating signal the enemy is sending via the radio waves."
Außerdem steht im englischen Wikipedia-Artikel, dass die Säkkijärven polkka nur 1.500 Mal gespielt wurde, nicht 15.000. --Ikarius74 (Diskussion) 16:40, 6. Jan. 2017 (CET)

- Finnisch kann ich nicht, und ich habe gedacht, vielleicht kann jemand, der einigermaßen Finnisch kann, drüberschauen, wie gut die Übersetzung ist. Mit Englisch ist es leichter für Leute, die nur ein bisschen Finnisch können. Vielleicht findet sich ja noch wer. Selbst habe ich mich nicht getraut, einfach das Englische zu übersetzen. Die Gründe hast Du genannt. A Google search gave no links to other English translations, which is why I decided to work on this. If there already exists an official translation, then I recommend checking it out rather than this one.
Landminen
BearbeitenWas unterscheidet dieses Stück von anderen Musikstücken, so dass damit Landminensignale gestört werden konnten? Hätte es auch mit anderen Stücken funktioniert? Wenn nein, warum nicht? Wird der physikalische Hintergrund irgendwo erklärt? Ich finde "die Frequenz halt" als Erklärung zuwenig, dafür ist der Fall zu außergewöhnlich. Mischma2000 (Diskussion) 14:38, 24. Mai 2023 (CEST)
