The wikipedia article about Leroy Anderson is incomplete. I have corrected the information previously posted concerning Leroy Anderson's work at the Pentagon. Leroy Anderson was a translator in Iceland at the start of WW II. However, later when at the Pentagon, Anderson was Chief of the Scandinavian Desk of Military Intelligence. Refer to the Leroy Anderson website for a complete and correct biography.
So that people can more easily discover all of Leroy Anderson's compositions, we have provided the complete list of works by the composer. The musical "Goldilocks" has 18 songs. The "Irish Suite" has 6 movements. The "Scottish Suite" has 2 movements that are published. Two additional unpublished movements of the "Scottish Suite" can be heard later this year on a new Naxos release with Leonard Slatkin, conductor.
"Leroy Anderson At The Piano - Complete Works for Solo Piano" is not a book per se, i.e., it is not a biography nor is it a reference book. It is a collection of published music. So we have renamed the heading to reflect the fact that it is a book of "Veröffentlichte Musik." The Leroy Anderson Family authorized the publication of "Leroy Anderson, A Bio-Bibliography" in 2004, published by Praeger Publishers, Westport CT 06881. The book's authors are Burgess Speed, Eleanor Anderson (widow of the composer Leroy Anderson) and Steve Metcalf.
