Das Taxon Viola wikipedia wurde 2019 als Pflanzenart aus der Gattung Veilchen (Viola) innerhalb der Familie der Veilchengewächse (Violaceae) beschrieben. Sie wurde nach der online Enzyklopädie Wikipedia benannt[1] und kommt nur in Chile vor.[1] Dieser Name stellt eine ungültige Veröffentlichung dar.
Systematik Bearbeiten
Die ungültige Erstbeschreibung von Viola wikipedia erfolgte im September 2019 durch das Ehepaar[2] John Michael Watson und Ana Rosa Flores, die beide chilenische Botaniker sind, in International Rock Gardener Collation, Volume 117, Seite 47, nach der online Enzyklopädie Wikipedia benannt[3][1]. „Viola wikipedia is particularly outstanding in that we consult it constantly for information on a wide variety of subjects related to our work – Wikipedia, as cited herein for example. The best token return we can think of is to name a plant accordingly, so it therefore gives us pleasure to record our gratitude via the replacement epithet of this species, as a noun in apposition.
The species is endemic to the Santiago region of Chile.[1] It is known only from a specimen collected in January 1855,[1] which was described by Rodolfo Amando Philippi in 1857 with the illegitimate homonym of Viola angustifolia.[1][3]
It is closely related to Viola acanthophylla, Viola bustillosia, and Viola cheeseana, the latter being newly described in the same paper.[1] It is differentiated from these other species by having "Leaf margin shallowly long-serrate. Peduncle clearly shorter than leaves."“
Allerdings ist dieses Taxon, Viola wikipedia, nach dem International Plant Name Index keine neue Art, sondern ein unnötiger und illegitimer Name und damit ein Synonym von Viola angustifolia.[4]
Es handelt sich um einen Verstoß gegen die Regeln des Artikel 52, es ergibt sich ein „überflüssiger Namen“ (latinisiert: nomen superfluum). Dies ist der Fall, wenn es zum Zeitpunkt seiner Erstbeschreibung bereits einen validen und korrekten Namen für das neu beschriebene Taxon gab, das nun also zum zweiten Mal beschrieben werden soll, nur unter einem anderen Namen, denn Viola angustifolia ist und bleibt der akzeptierte Name.
