TRINIDAD 223 Catholic Cathedral there is a handsome fountain sur-mounted by a statue of Christopher Columbus, which waspresented to the town by one of its citizens, Mr. HippoliteBorde, and unveiled in 1881, when the square was opened.It is inscribed : CRISTOFORO COLOMBODISCOVERER OF THE ISLAND, 31 JULY, I498. In Harris Square, between Marine Square and theSavannah, a statue perpetuates the memory of LordHarris, Governor from 1846 to 1854.
