English: The Beroflex AF70-210 1:4-5.6 is an early third-party AF lens released in ca. 1988, and was designed for the first generation of mainstream SLRs with autofocus capability, specifically Nikon F and Minolta A with screw-drive AF engagement. Versions for Pentax K as well as Canon EF are claimed to exist, but evidence is lacking. Beroflex was a West German reseller of cameras and photography-related gear imported primarily from East Germany, though not exclusively, and the actual manufacturer is Samyang of South Korea.

The lens has a 70 to 210 mm focal range and a minimum focus distance of 1.1 meters. The rotating front element is threaded for a 52 mm lens hood or filter. Weight comes in at about 520 grams with both end caps. On Nikon bodies, the lens relies on the camera's in-body AF motor and consequently cannot autofocus on cheaper models in the D3xxx or D5xxx lineup. It also predates the AF-D standard and exposure therefore may not be as accurate in certain situations such as when using fill flash. Furthermore, the electronic interface was imperfectly reverse-engineered, rendering the Beroflex incompatible with some Nikon DSLRs made after 2009 or so.
