Kabul (Feb. 20, 2010) Conducting an assessment for Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, Commander International Security Assistance Force, Afghanistan, Kimberly Kagan, President of the Institute for the Study of War in Washington DC, visits NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan to monitor the development of the ISAF campaign plans. Kagan will also study the progress made in country since her initial assessment in July. To better understand the future of NTM-A and the Afghan Nation Security Force Kagan will visit the ANSF training centers along with units currently engaged in the fight. Paying particular attention to the partnering between the US and Afghan Forces. Kagan finds it interesting to see the degree of energy within the NTM-A and she is looking forward to how the commands vision transpires on the ground.
