Hintergrund Bearbeiten

Anfang 2006 trat Billy Joel zwölfmal in Folge im ausverkauften Madison Square Garden in New York City auf, was zuvor noch kein anderer Musiker erreicht hatte. Die zwölf Auftritte wurden als Querschnitt im Juni 2006 auf dem Live-Album „12 Gardens“ veröffentlicht. Seine Tour setzte Joel anschließend in Europa, unter anderem auch in Deutschland, fort. Den Abschluss des Europa-Teils der Tour spielten er und Bryan Adams am 31. Juli 2006 bei einem Gratis-Konzert vor dem Kolosseum in Rom.
